Please note the application deadlines, decision dates, varying criteria, and e-mail query addresses per applicant category. Applications received after the initial deadline will be reviewed if there is room in that particular category. Applications are only considered when complete. All applications must include:

  • Completed application form, download here

Composition Applicants

Eligibility: those currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study, as well as advanced high school students

Audition requirements: 3 different original works, scores (pdf) and recordings (mp3). A completed application form. A resume listing composition experience and dates. Submit all of these materials in a single .zip file by e-mail to:

Instrumental Applicants

Vocal Applicants

Eligibility: those 17 to 35 years of age

Audition requirements: 1 art song or aria from the standard repertoire and 1 art song or aria written after 1900 in English. A completed application form. A resume listing performance experience and dates. Submit all of these materials in a single .zip file by e-mail to:

Audition options: mp3 recordings and/or youtube links. (Finalist vocal applicants may be asked for skype or live auditions. We will contact you to make arrangements if you are one of the finalist vocal applicants).

Hybrid Applicants
ie: composer/vocalist, composer/instrumentalist, instrumentalist/vocalist

Audition requirements: please submit 2 separate applications following the category requirements above. Only one application fee is necessary.

Fees, Payment, Refunds

Fees: $2000 (includes room and board, coaching, instruction, seminars, workshops and all other music programming)

Accepted participants must send a $500 deposit within two weeks of notification of acceptance.

Deposits are not refundable after May 1st, 2012, except in cases of documented medical emergency.

The balance of fees is due in full no later than May 1st, 2012. Payment of the balance is by check (only) payable to NMOP and mailed to 1361 Hooker Rd., Leicester VT 05733.
